GreenScreen Certified® is a highly protective product certification that evaluates the health and environmental hazards of a product, and supports purchasers in making safer choices. Each product is assessed using the GreenScreen suite of tools and criteria such as restricted substances lists and analytical tests, while protecting proprietary formulations. If your organization is interested in promoting safer products that avoid PFAS and thousands of chemicals of concern, consider getting your products GreenScreen Certified.

Step 1 PRE-REGISTRATION:
Step 2 REGISTRATION:
  • Fill out the form below to register and begin the certification process. CPA will reach out to you once the Registration form has been submitted.
Step 3 APPLICATION:
  • Clean Production Action will reach out once the Registration form has been 
    submitted to help you:
  • 1) Submit a formal application form
    • Decide whether to pursue Bronze or Silver level with CPA, or Gold or Platinum level with a GreenScreen Certified Reviewer. 
    • For Gold & Platinum: each chemical in your product must have a valid 
  • 2) Pay fees to Clean Production Action, and/or a Reviewer. 
    • Product Review Fees – fee paid to CPA or a Reviewer for the review of the 
      product against criteria. 
    • Certification Review Fees – fee paid to CPA for a QA/QC of the Product 
      Review and licensing of the product.
    • For all levels – costs of required analytical testing is the responsibility of the client. 
    • For Gold & Platinum – costs of GreenScreen Assessments required for individual chemicals are separate from the fees for the Product Review. 
  • 3) Sign a non-disclosure agreement. 
Step 4 EVALUATION:
  • Product Review
    • Provide required information, as designated in the Standard, to Clean 
      Production Action or to the Reviewer you are working with. The reviewer 
      will evaluate your product against the GreenScreen Certified criteria. 
    • Note for Gold and Platinum levels you must work with a Licensed Profiler 
      to obtain GreenScreen Assessments for each chemical in the product as 
      part of GreenScreen Certified criteria. 
  • Certification Review
    • Once the product review is completed, either by CPA or by a Reviewer, 
      the product must undergo a second Certification Review by CPA. This 
      Certification Review is a QA/QC review and is where final determination of 
      whether the product passes criteria is made. 
Step 5 CERTIFICATION:
  • If the product passes the criteria, you will work with Clean Production Action to complete certification. CPA maintains license agreements, certificates and badges. Products are published on the GreenScreen Certified website, which is the definitive list of all certified products.
    • Market Certified Products according to the Terms of Use and requirements in the License Agreement signed with CPA. 
    • Products are subject to annual renewal – products are reviewed each year during the lifetime of the certification to maintain compliance.
